You’ve heard this phrase, right? More than likely, you’ve heard it from a realtor but this saying can be applied to event planning as well. Whether you’re planning a birthday party, a wedding or a corporate event, the location you choose can determine the success of your event.
To find a location perfect for your specific needs, determine the mood of the event. Are you throwing a party and looking for a space that exudes fun or are you looking for a more modest location for a business event? Determine how you want your guests to feel when they arrive at your event.
Of course, determining the number of guests is important to determining the location. So, make sure to have some sort of RSVP system. Having a good idea on how many people plan to come will determine the size of your location.
It’s also really important to keep an open mind when it comes to location. A location, which you may have never considered as a space for your event, may be the perfect place.
For example, to make a private fundraising event super special, we transformed an airport hangar into an awesome music venue (see the photo above). As guests made their way in, they could take in the vastness of the airport hangar and the décor simply added to the brilliance of the space. The airport hangar provided a unique, fun and sophisticated element to this event.
When planning your event, don’t forget the importance of location by determining the atmosphere you want to achieve, the number of attendees and always keep an open mind!
