Once known only by the mysterious moniker Zhu, the electronic artist emerged in 2014 with “Moves Like Ms. Jackson,” a dance track made up of a medley of OutKast songs. From there, Zhu defied the power of the information age by remaining anonymous, asking only to be judged by his music. More music began to appear on the streaming site Soundcloud, and with the hype building, an EP, Nightday, arrived in the spring of 2014. Hit single “Faded” was nominated for a Grammy and he decided it was time to reveal his identity.

Stephen Zhu, born in San Francisco and based in Los Angeles, started creating music as a student at the University of Southern California. And that was it. He offered only scant personal details and continued to shift focus onto his music. His 2015 Genesis Series featured an impressive list of guests (Skrillex, Daniel Johns, Trombone Shorty, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, AlunaGeorge) and continued to build both fan and industry anticipation for a full-length release.

Zhu is available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
