From the sandy dirt roads of Baxley, GA, The LACS consist of Brian King and Clay Sharpe. Baxley is a small town in South Georgia that is known more for its turpentine stills than for having a successful “Hick Hop” group. But if Clay and Brian have anything to say about it, that won’t be true for long.
The guys have always lived by their favorite quote, “People see stuff and ask why, I dream stuff that never was and ask why not?” They looked at today’s popular country music, mixed what they saw with hip hop and some southern rock. Why not? The “outlaw country” sound they have created is even stronger than the moonshine they drink.
Brian and Clay both come from blue collar backgrounds, working as carpenters, electricians, and finding other odd jobs just to earn enough money to keep their dreams of making music professionally alive. Now, as they work on their third studio album, hopes are high. Each of their first two albums, released through Average Joes Entertainment (also home to Colt Ford, Montgomery Gentry, LoCash Cowboys, JJ Lawhorn and many other household names) charted on the Billboard Top 100 charts.
For their new record, Clay and Brian are working along side platinum selling artists like “Big and Rich” and “Bubba Sparxxx,” who both appeared on their most recent album, 190 Proof. For The LACS, the sky is the limit. So if you are still unsure about the rapidly growing “Hick Hop” movement, catch up with them at one of their live shows.
They promise you’ll be blown away by the high energy performance, as well as the party atmosphere cultivated by their unique group of loyal fans. Keep an eye on their website and Facebook for tour dates in your area, and keep listening.
The Lacs are available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
