Tears For Fears, founded by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, began their career as part of the ’80s British New Wave with the break-out hit album The Hurting, which gained critical acclaim and was #1 on the UK album chart. Recognized for their creative melodies and intelligent lyrics, the band continued to garner success with their second album, Songs from the Big Chair, featuring the international hits “Shout” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.” The album topped the US Billboard 200 chart and was a multi-platinum selling album in both the UK and US, helping to establish Tears For Fears as one of the leading acts of the second generation of MTV stars with more than 30 million albums worldwide.
