Josh Jacobson grew up in Los Angeles with a fine artist mother, a rock n roll drummer father and a very intelligent and studious younger sister whom he is counting on to financially support him in his old age. After years at the Silverlake Children’s Theatre Group, Josh attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts where he was accepted into the prestigious Full Circle Opera Project. During High School, Josh received a John Raitt Award Nomination for his performance as Dickon in The Secret Garden and was blessed with the opportunity to perform in the ensemble of Giancarlo Menotti’s opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at the nationally-renowned Pasadena Playhouse.
He went on to earn his BFA in Musical Theatre at the University of Miami and while in Miami played Peter in the Southeastern Regional Premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher at the Adrienne Arsht Center. In addition to performing in musicals, plays, and operas, Josh has also sung back-up for numerous great artists, such as Tony Award Winner Tonya Pinkins, and Grammy Award Winners Barry Manilow and Patti Austin. Although only having been in New York for nine months, Josh has already appeared in three original musicals, including the Fringe Festival hit Beware the Chupacabra, which was selected to play at Soho Playhouse as part of the 2015 Fringe Encore Series.
Josh Jacobson is available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
