Casey Jamerson has proven to be, “a number of very talented things to a number of very talented people”. Over the past ten years Casey’s ability has brought her opportunities that most people could only dream of. Her passion is MUSIC, singer and songwriter, but there is so much more. That passion has taken her from a small town in Indiana to the mecca of country music, Nashville Tennessee, to the brightest lights of Broadway and beyond. Not a bad start for a girl just 22 years old.
The story begins with a young woman powerfully driven by a desire to work hard and achieve big things while never backing away from a challenge that most would think unattainable. From the time she was a little girl she has displayed a vocal ability that has amazed some of the most recognized and respected names in the music industry. Her athletic abilities afforded her a division 1 college athletic scholarship and her combination of talents put her on the most prestigious of all stages for the last 18 months, New York’s Broadway.
By the time she was a junior in high school Casey had already become an All-State athlete and cheerleader, recorded a full length CD and had a single charting on the radio. She had shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music, performed National Anthems for most all of the professional sporting organizations including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NASCAR, and horse racing’s Breeders Cup. Opportunities continued to come at Casey and there were times when the decisions seemed overwhelming. Music, Athletics and Academics were becoming more difficult to try and fit together. Indiana University offered Casey an Athletic scholarship her senior year in high school and the “safe” play was go to college and pursue a law degree. Casey reluctantly accepted the scholarship and enrolled at Indiana University in the fall of 2008. The problem, it wasn’t her passion.
It was in October of 2008, while a freshman at Indiana, Grammy Award winning producer Paul Worley came calling and that “safe” play would have to be rethought. Worley, a legend in the music industry for his work with The Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Sara Evans and Lady Antebellum, acquired a copy of Casey’s first CD and contacted her management to set up a meeting to discuss Casey’s future as a recording artist. Following that meeting, a new path was set in motion that would place Casey exactly where she wanted to be. Right in the heart of what she knew was her passion. HER MUSIC
Casey finished that first semester at Indiana University and packed her bags for Music City. It was there, under the direction of Worley that she began honing the skills that would put her in front of audiences all over the United States. Writing through the week in Nashville with the greatest songwriters from the world of Country, to flying to LA, to pen tunes with pop icons LMFAO, Casey never wanted to be boxed into a genre of music. She wanted her music to translate to an audience with musical tastes as diverse as her own. Lyrics that told a story and could move you emotionally while making you want to move even more physically. She had become highly sought after for her ability to deliver a song vocally and as a creative lyricist and melody maker. On the weekends, she would take her show on the road and that became a way of life for the next couple years. During that time, Casey performed in front of thousands of people at some of the premier concert venues around the country, live television appearances, performing for our military and building a loyal fan base everywhere she went.
Everything was in motion for a new record release in the fall of 2011. New songs had been written, demos cut and fans of Casey’s music were anxiously awaiting the release. Then an opportunity from out of the blue;
Casey was contacted about a new Broadway musical being directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler. The musical was going to be a reproduction of the hit movie series “Bring It On”. Blankenbuehler stated in an interview, “We were trying to find a needle in a haystack. Finding someone with the ability to sing, dance and act at this level and have the cheerleading skills to pull off some of the most amazing stunts Broadway has ever seen…. then we found Casey Jamerson”. Casey was offered a contract and after consulting with her management and Mr. Worley, decide this was an opportunity she could not turn down. Casey had to put her recording plans on hold and moved from Nashville to New York to begin rehearsals in September 2011. The show enjoyed huge successes over the past 18 months as a Broadway and touring musical and Casey has stated it was “one of the greatest experiences of my life”. The show ended its Broadway run Dec 30th 2012 to phenomenal reviews.
2013 has started amazingly well with many offers to perform with her band as well as additional offers from Broadway and as far away as Australia. After a well deserved break, from 18 consecutive months of 8 shows a week, Casey will once again be on tour with her band in the heart of the party known as college spring break. It all begins again starting in March, Panama City Beach Florida.
Casey Jamerson is available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
