How did GORDIE BROWN go from political cartoonist to being voted Nevada’s “Entertainer of the Year”?

GORDIE BROWN was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. While working as a political cartoonist for the Ottawa Sunday Herald, his co-workers entered him in a talent contest in which he took first place. There was no turning back! GORDIE caught the entertainment bug and with nothing more than a suitcase, he headed south for Las Vegas. GORDIE’s goal was to break into the big time and work with fellow Canadians Paul Anka and Rich Little. Well, the gamble paid off! In less than two years, GORDIE was opening for both Anka and Little as well as other stars such as Jay Leno, Louie Anderson, Kenny Rogers, Randy Travis, Barry Manilow, and Jerry Seinfeld.

GORDIE later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stand-up comedy where he had his national television debut on A&E’s “Evening at the Improv”. Founder of the Improv, Budd Friedman said, “Through the years I’ve seen thousands of comedians, and few have caught my eye and attention like GORDIE BROWN.”

After co-hosting NBC’s “Friday Night Videos”, GORDIE wrote and recorded the theme song for the Emmy-Award winning animated series “Life with Louie”. He made several memorable appearances on “Hollywood Squares”, and also landed the starring role of ‘Mr. Jones’ on PAX TV’s drama series, “Twice in a Lifetime”.

GORDIE was then approached by Harrahs Corporation to headline his hilarious one-man show in Reno, Nevada where he received numerous awards, including “Entertainer of the Year”, “Best Comedian”, “Best Show” and “Best Entertainer”.

Destined to return to Las Vegas, GORDIE headlined several different venues such as The Golden Nugget, The Venetian, and Planet Hollywood, and made television appearances on the “Late Show with David Letterman”, the “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”, and “EXTRA!”. GORDIE then joined Celine Dion on the North American leg of her “Taking Chances” world tour, bringing audiences to their feet with his uniquely edgy and energetic combination of comedy, music and impressions. Returning to The Golden Nugget Casino in 2009, GORDIE headlines in front of a live band in their newly renovated state-of-the-art theater, The Gordie Brown Showroom.

Gordie Brown is available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
