Daisy O’Dell is a DJ, producer, music curator, and lead singer of indie electronic band The m.i.d.s. Drawing her musical influence from artists as varied as Lou Reed and Calvin Harris (both of whom she has performed with), “her particular mix of old-school disco, indie, Britpop, classic rock, hip-hop, and electro makes the perfect dance partner…” (Flavorpill) and she “isn’t afraid to reach deep into her collection to make people dance” (LA Times).

Daisy O’Dell grew up in Toronto, Canada. She can’t recall a time before she was passionate about music. Her father, an audiophile, introduced her early on to the virtues of his extensive classical collection on vinyl. She sang jazz standards in grade school, played double bass and steal drums in middle school, and then attended the esteemed Etobicoke School for The Arts majoring in Music Theater. While there Daisy developed a fascination (“borderline obsession”) with anything vintage – clothing, accessories, art, and, of course, music, and began amassing her own impressive collection of rare vinyl.

After graduating she headed to London and became immersed in the VIP club scene. You Magazine including her in their feature “Queen Of Clubs” about London’s “IT” Girls. It was in London that Daisy fell in love with dance music and began her affinity with DJ culture. When Daisy moved to New York, her arrival hardly went unnoticed. Cited by The New York Times as “one of the coolest people in Manhattan”, Daisy endeared herself to the city’s influential nightlife personalities and easily maneuvered her tastemaker status into DJ gigs. Her fate was sealed when within a month of her first paid DJ gig, she was asked to tour with Gwen Stefani as part of the Harajuku Lovers Tour.

Since being touted by Urb Magazine as “one to watch”, Daisy had become one of the most in-demand DJs around. In addition to her staggering DJ schedule, Daisy was named ROXY’s first sponsored DJ and as the model for their collaboration with JBL for their “Style, Meet Sound” campaign, she beat out ladies from all over the world to serve as their spokesperson. Daisy was also chosen by Toyota for their “Remix Your Ride” campaign in collaboration with ELLE Magazine. She was the tastemaker who Disney called when Angelia Jolie was seeking music inspiration for Maleficent – Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon A Dream” was the result of that collaboration and Daisy was awarded the Golden Trailer. She is also the current music director for ELLE Women In Hollywood and Variety “Power Of” series working closely with these clients to curate soundtracks for talent as varied as Barbara Streisand, Lena Dunham, and Nicole Kidman.

Daisy has released a collection of remixes that are both familiar and classic. Her most notable collection of re-edits, called ‘Versions’ debuted on KCRW’s Best New Music featuring her version of Nico’s “These Days.” The m.i.d.s. have received several lucrative song placements in film and television and were selected by Ulta Beauty for the One Cosmetics launch campaign which included an enormous billboard in Times Square featuring Daisy.

So far in 2015 alone Daisy O’Dell has DJed the HBO Golden Globes afterparty, Unite For Humanity’s Oscar gala, the Avengers: Age Of Ultron premier, Alessandra Ambrosio’s Coachella inspired jewelry launch at the festival, ELLE Women In Music along side Alanis Morissette, Banks, and Tinashe, and Cover Girl’s latest campaign shoot featuring Katy Perry and Janelle Monae.

Daisy O’Dell is available for corporate events, private shows, milestone celebrations (birthday, anniversary), fundraisers, festivals, and more.
